Outdoor Pool Table Testing: Comparing to Choose Better

Outdoor Pool Table: A Unique Expertise

It is not enough to simply declare that a product can be placed in a garden for it to last many years while retaining its appearance and properties. Outdoor use requires specific design and materials, which Cornilleau masters and continuously improves. In the 1980s, the brand created the first ping pong tables truly designed for outdoor use. Since then, Cornilleau has been continuously developing this specific expertise.

With a dedicated laboratory and technicians for product and component testing, Cornilleau cultivates a unique approach focused on users, to offer ever more resistant and durable products. To ensure this and benchmark itself, the teams also test many competing products. The goal is clear: always do better.

Durability, Corrosion, Weather Resistance, Rough Handling: The Tests That Make the Difference

UV Resistance and Fade Test

Anti-corrosion test – resistance to oxidation of metal parts and paint

The anti-corrosion test subjects the metal parts of the billiard table to accelerated aging. It is conducted in a salt spray chamber to evaluate their resistance to oxidation.

This test ensures that even in coastal environments, a Cornilleau billiard table will not rust.

Durability and Repairability of the Cushions

Our cushions, like all the other components of the billiards, are tested to validate their durability.

Furthermore, to extend the lifespan of Cornilleau billiards beyond the warranty period, the cushions can be easily removed and replaced. Like all spare parts, they are available for a minimum of 20 years after the product purchase.

Mechanical resistance and fabric tear test

The mechanical resistance test performed on the fabrics used for billiard cloths is also known as the "tear test." It validates the strength of the materials used and ensures they can withstand, for example, accidental hits with misused cues, which can happen during billiard games.

To certify the durability of our products, we perform this test not only on new fabric samples but also on samples that have previously undergone all other testing phases (UV resistance and fading, aging, etc.).
