How to maintain your pool table

Our advice on maintaining your pool table

Traditional pool tables require particular attention to maintenance, with carpets that are sensitive to stains and wear over time, requiring frequent replacement. On the other hand, Cornilleau outdoor pool table, named Hyphen, releases itself from these constraints thanks to its resistance to impact, stains and the elements.

Most stains can be easily removed with the brush supplied, water and a non-abrasive sponge. However, it is advisable to act as quickly as possible as soon as any dirt appears. It is essential to rinse the playing surface with water and allow it to air dry to avoid any marks. High-pressure cleaners should not be used, except in exceptional circumstances.

The Hyphen pool table is designed for easy cleaning, as shown by the examples of stubborn stains below. For a more thorough cleaning, please refer to our specific advice for each type of stain.

Coffee

Renowned for leaving stains when spilled on fabric, coffee isn't a problem for Hyphen. Simply clean the stain with water and a sponge promptly after noticing it. For even more effective cleaning, mix 1 liter of water with 1.5 cl of dish soap and use this mixture to clean your pool table. Rinse thoroughly afterward and let it air dry.

Specific Tips for Each Type of Stain

To delve deeper, here are specific recommendations for each type of stain. Even more effective than using water and a brush, they ensure that your pool table returns to its original state. In each of these cases, it's important to gently rub the table until the stain disappears with the recommended cleaning solution, then rinse thoroughly and let it air dry.

> Coffee, soda, ketchup, mustard, milk, tea: mix 1 liter of water with 1.5 cl of dish soap.

> Red fruits: mix about 5 cl of white vinegar with 1.5 cl of dish soap and 1 liter of water.

> Wine: mix about 5 cl of hydrogen peroxide, 1.5 cl of dish soap, 2 cl of white vinegar with 1 liter of water.

Annual Maintenance Tips

Before the winter season or during infrequent use of your pool table, it's recommended to perform a complete cleaning. Use the provided brush to brush the entire surface of the table, removing any impurities from the playing surface. To prepare your pool table for winter or protect it during an extended period of non-use, simply cover it with the dedicated protective cover. This will maximize its protection against the elements and dust.

After a long period under the protective cover, it's possible that foam or slight traces of mold may have formed on the table surface. However, this doesn't pose a major issue. Simply remove them before use with a non-abrasive sponge and water.
