How to Maintain Your Pool Table?

Traditional pool tables require very particular precautions in terms of maintenance. Their felt surfaces cannot withstand stains and wear over time, often necessitating regular replacement. Hyphen, the outdoor pool table from Cornilleau, is free from these constraints, as it is resistant to impacts, stains, and weather conditions. Most stains can be cleaned with the provided brush, using water and a sponge. However, we advise you to act promptly when you notice a stain. It is important to rinse the playing surface with water and let it air dry to prevent marks. Please note that the use of high-pressure cleaners is not recommended, except in extreme cases. Hyphen is designed to be easily cleaned, as demonstrated with the examples of stubborn stains below. For a more comprehensive cleaning, refer to our specific advice for each type of stain.

COFFEE

Known for leaving marks when spilled on fabric, coffee is not a problem for Hyphen. Simply clean the stain with water and a sponge promptly after noticing it. For even more effective cleaning, mix 1 liter of water with 1.5 cl of dishwashing liquid and use this mixture to clean the felt of your pool table. Then rinse thoroughly and let it air dry.

KETCHUP

Whether it's a picnic or a quick meal around a game of pool, all it takes is one clumsy move and your pool table felt gets stained with ketchup. On a traditional pool table, this would be unforgivable. However, with Hyphen, simply wipe the game surface with water and a sponge, rinse, and let it dry to remove the stain. For even more effective cleaning, mix 1 liter of water with 1.5 cl of dishwashing liquid and use this solution to clean the felt of your pool table. Then rinse thoroughly and let it air dry.

RED WINE

An aperitif, a conversation among friends; you place your glass on the edge of the pool table and it accidentally spills. To remedy this, a sponge and water may suffice if you act quickly. For even more effective cleaning, mix about 5cl of hydrogen peroxide, 1.5 cl of dishwashing liquid, 2cl of white vinegar with 1 liter of water and use this solution to clean the felt of your pool table. Then rinse thoroughly and let it air dry.

ICE CREAM AND SORBET

Highly appreciated by children and adults alike, ice cream and sorbets are perfect companions for a relaxing moment in the sun. Similarly, Hyphen, the Cornilleau outdoor pool table, is safe to enjoy ice cream near the playing surface. If it happens to fall on the playing surface, simply use the provided brush to remove it, then wipe with water using a sponge and let it dry. MOIST SOIL

If mud or damp soil ends up on the felt of your pool table, don't worry: simply rinse the felt of your pool table thoroughly. Be sure to rinse the entire playing surface to avoid any marks. We do not recommend using a high-pressure cleaner, except in extreme cases.

SPECIFIC ADVICE FOR EACH TYPE OF STAIN

To delve deeper, here are specific recommendations for tackling different types of stains.
